Automatic payment available according to pre-set cycle
Enhanced payment convenience expected to increase DTC sales
Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 announced that Recurring Payments Service will be available on its e-commerce platform starting on July 31.
Recurring payments service refers to a system in which regular payments and deliveries are automatically carried out according to a prearranged schedule. The service is a key foundation for the subscription business model that provides regular deliveries of products based on a fixed monthly payment.
Customers can regularly receive products without having to make multiple, identical orders upon registering a payment method and a delivery cycle during service sign-up.
The service will offer DTC stores with the option to provide delivery subscription services, which up until now had been limited to online retail giants, without having to install a separate payment infrastructure. Moreover, it is expected to increase sales for DTCs in the long-run as online shoppers will be able to experience enhanced payment convenience.
Jaesuk Lee, CEO of Cafe24, said, “It is important to recognize online shoppers’ needs and work to provide online businesses with a competitive edge.” He said, “Cafe24 will continue to support DTCs by lowering hurdles in the ever-changing e-commerce market so that they can continue to grow.”
