Industry’s first provider of convenience store payments via Galaxia Communications
Payment option supported by 40K+ convenience stores to enhance shopping experience
E-commerce merchants can now provide their customers with an offline payment option.
Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 announced on Apr 21 its cooperation with payment solution company, Galaxia Communications, to enable convenience store payments in online stores. Cafe24 is the first e-commerce platform company in Korea to provide convenience store payment services to online merchants.
This form of payment allows consumers to make an online purchase first and then visit a nearby convenience store to make the payment in cash. It also enables merchants to provide shoppers that are unfamiliar with online payments with a more user-friendly offline payment option.
Convenience store payments can be a more accessible alternative to consumers like teenagers or foreigners that have difficulty gaining authorization for credit cards or direct carrier billing. It also frees those that prefer offline payments from inconveniences in online shopping like account transfer fees.
Jaesuk Lee, CEO of Cafe24, said, “Enhancing consumers’ shopping experience by providing more convenient payment options can ultimately influence an online store’s business growth.” He said, “Cafe24 will continue to add payment services that are highly relevant in today’s e-commerce industry to our platform.”
